Fibroids Affect Black Women More Often

An estimated 80%-90% of Black women will develop fibroids in their lifetime.

Symptoms often begin at younger ages and may progress more quickly.

Major surgery is often recommended even though non-surgical options like UFE are proven effective.

Missing Out on Life Because of Fibroid Symptoms?

Fibroids can affect women in different ways. These symptoms are common, but they aren’t something you have to live with. Common symptoms include:

Heavy or Prolonged Periods

Pelvic Pressure
or Fullness

Frequent
Urination

Pelvic Pain
or Cramping

Fatigue
or Anemia

Constipation
or Bowel Changes

What are Fibroids?

Uterine fibroids are noncancerous growths that can develop in or around the uterus. They can be small or large and can cause symptoms that make everyday life difficult, including heavy bleeding, pelvic pressure, and fatigue.

What is UFE?

Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) is a safe, effective, minimally invasive procedure that shrinks fibroids without surgery.

A tiny catheter is guided to the arteries that supply the fibroids. Small particles are used to gently block the blood flow. This causes the fibroids to shrink, thereby reducing symptoms and improving quality of life.

The uterus remains intact.

Patients go home the same day and return to normal activities within about a week.

No incision. No hospital stay. No long recovery.
